The curriculum of the International School Twente is based upon the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and international standards for Literacy and Numeracy.

International Primary Curriculum

The IPC is one of the fastest-growing curriculums in the world and endorsed by schools, authorities and governments alike. It was developed during the last ten years by the British educational agency Fieldwork Education and the Dutch Stichting Nederlands Onderwijs in het Buitenland. At the moment the IPC is used in over 300 international and national schools all over the world.

International understanding is one of the essential ideas behind the IPC, but each unit of work also provides activities specifically related to multiple intelligences, emotions in learning, memory and learning styles. Each IPC unit is written to accommodate the latest research into brain function. Learning Goals are the foundation on which the International Primary Curriculum is built. These Learning Goals define what children may be expected to know, what they may be able to achieve, and the understanding they may develop as they progress through the school. The Learning Goals of the IPC meet the required standards for Dutch national education as well as many foreign curriculum requirements.

The curriculum of International School Twente will have the following other characteristics:

  • Education in English
